Goodness, it's been a while! I have been busy making home improvements and getting my photography site up and running, feel free to check it out at this link: Goodness Infinity Paw Prints.

When the temperature fall below 90 degrees here in the South, we get so excited about welcoming a new season. In light of Fall approaching, I have completed some DIY projects, and here are a few of my accomplishments so far...

Pippin Goodness!

We have recently introduced a new member to our family, Pippin!  Oatmeal told us that he was ready for a new little sister, and Oatmeal rules the roost, so we jumped with joy when we found this little, fat ball of joy. Pippin is 8 weeks old, and she enjoys eating, sleeping, and playing with her big brother. Did I mention that she loves to eat? At her fist vet visit, she weighed 4 more pounds than Oatmeal did at the same age! She is a little oinker, so much, that I thought about renaming her, "Miss Piggy."

We have had the piggy for one week now, and disaster struck this past Friday.  Pippin woke up during the night, with a bloody stool, and was out of sorts. Hours later, she began vomiting, and I panicked. So, I took Pippin to the vet and tried to keep my emotions at bay. Huge Fail! I was a basket case. I used every bone in my body to try to hold back the tears, and to no avail. The vet told me that she was really sick, and that she would have to remain hooked up to an IV from anywhere to 2 to 5 days, if she makes it. I was in hysterics by this point, and I had to leave her at the vet.  It is amazing how attached you can get to a puppy after just one week.

After leaving my poor baby, I went home to regroup.  I called my vet: Four Paws Animal Clinic, every 2 hours to check on her.  I wanted details, I wanted an explanation, but sometimes, that just isn't possible.  I was dying inside.  I can't imagine what it would be like to go through such an experience with children- all the mom's out there, my hat goes off to you.

We visited Pipp at the vet throughout the day and called continuously. At 5 pm later that day, the vet called and told us they were keeping her over night.  She had eaten some throughout the day, but they still wanted to keep her hooked up to the IVs to keep her hydrated.  This is where I hit rock bottom. I could not imagine the thought of Pippin staying in a place by herself, away from us and away from Oatmeal, she is just so young and helpless. After another 2 hour crying session, the vet called us back at 7pm (yes, the vet and staff stayed there until 7pm on a Friday just for my Pippin Piglet). They told us that Pip was barking, running around, playing, having a good time, and that she had chewed through her catheter.  Oh My goodness! That little stinker wanted to come home! So, they told us to monitor her over night, and to take her to the emergency clinic if she vomits again.

When I brought Pippin back home, she was greeted at the door by Oatmeal and she went straight to her food bowl (being the little Piglet that she is), and began to eat....and eat...and eat.  She played with Oatmeal, slept through the night, watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics, and has been playing and back to her old self today.  I am happy to report that Pippin is doing just fine, and she is glad to be home.  The vet suspects it was some type of bug, and that she will be okay.  The roller coaster of emotions has left me exhausted, but I have to find energy somewhere because Pippin is rested up and ready to play, and I would not want it any other way...

Here are some pics of Pippin, the quality of the pics are not up to par because I have taken a lot of them on my phone, but she is still quite a beaut, even without all of the mega pixels!

Oatmeal and Pippin sent this picture to their cousin Hammy Biscuit because he had surgery yesterday, torn ligament.

Fishing Goodness

If anyone knows me, they know I love to be outside.  Being outside and throwing a cast net? Well, it does not get much better.  Luckily, I had my main squeeze, Lindsey, to document one of my favorite activities on the water.

The best way to throw a cast net is to put some of the line in your mouth (this is a messy job), and to try and get the widest spread possible in your net-the weights sink and engulf what is in its path.  The best part is, you never know what you are going to pull up.  Sometimes, it's just seaweed and debris, and sometimes, you get a creature. This method of throwing the cast net is the best way to catch bait for fishing but of course, that is up for discretion, to each their own.  At any rate, it is quite therapeutic and enjoyable, and I can't think of anything I would rather be doing.

Memorial Day Goodness

Memorial Day was so much fun this year!  Thanks to our good friend, Gregory, we got to visit one of the best places on earth.  Bonneau, South Carolina is a small dot on the map, located on Lake Moultrie. We were joined by our best friends, new friends, and five dogs!  I absolutely cannot say enough about this wonderful, tranquil little hiding spot. It is everything that I could ever want on a Memorial Day weekend.

We had fun in the sun, fished and relaxed the entire weekend.  One of my absolute most favorite things to do in the whole world is to fish and be with people that I love, accompanied with canine companions.  Those three factors alone are a perfect recipe (in my book) for a perfect weekend. The weather was awesome, the company surrounding me was delightful, and luckily, this place was the absolute best setting to practice my photography of water, sun, friends, and doggies!

Memories were made, fun was had by all, and most importantly, no ticks or snakes were spotted. Beer, fishing, sunscreen and dogs were the highlights. Great food, corn hole tournaments, hammock swings, and jet skis were plentiful. My highlight of the trip was one of my jet ski rides with my best friend, Lindsey.  She has been trusting me for years to captain our rides, and I did not disappoint.

Here are some pictures from one of the best places on earth, Butter Road, Bonneau.  It has quite a ring to it, doesn't it?
